Returning to Air – Schedule

I’m sure by now a few of you are probably worried, since I’ve had to take a break after the heat exhaustion incident. Thankfully with listener support, I was able to install the AC unit in the studio which was a huge help. I cannot express just how thankful I really am for that. My neurologist cleared me for a Monday return, though I am behind on production. I could do an open lines show tonight and reschedule a guest for tomorrow, but after discussion with TJ, we’ve come up with a better plan.

As some of you may know, I’ve also been undergoing a series of minor medical procedures lately which haven’t made it any easier on production. I now have one planned for this Wednesday, and will have one planned each subsequent week over the next couple of months. It’s been very difficult trying to juggle this and trying to do a five-day show right now, so with careful consideration, here’s the plan:

This Thursday and Friday I will be returning officially to air. Over the next several weeks following, I will be airing live Wednesday through Friday with guests. Mondays and Tuesdays I will have off for live shows but may also air some pre-recorded interviews on these days to supplement replays with fresh content.

In the mean time, I will be looking for a small group of trainable volunteer associate producers to help with contacting guests, which will also allow me more time off to focus on promotion before we ramp up to 5 days again. I’ll be setting up a group inbox for volunteers. If you’re interested, send me a message: amy@amyontheradio.com or drop me a line on social media.

I’m behind on lots of smaller tasks for the show, so with extra days and people helping out, this will also give me time to fully catch up and prepare for a very large marketing campaign, with a lot of time and energy invested as I’ve been planning for weeks now.

So just to recap:

  • Temporary show schedule will be LIVE Wednesday, Thursday, Friday—still 8PM-11Pm Central; Replays and pre-recorded fresh content planned for Mondays and Tuesdays (same time)
  • Looking for anyone trainable who is willing to be a volunteer associate show producer. You don’t have to make calls, as most guest communications will be conducted via e-mail and social media.
  • Returning with ETA — 2 months for full show LIVE, 5 days a week.

Come hell, high heat, tornadoes, and everything else— the show will absolutely go on.

Thank you so much for your undying support. Again, it really means a lot. This show would be nothing without its listeners!
